Interior and Exterior Finish

The decision for what type of products to use for the interior and exterior finish were based on several factors including the effect on indoor air quality and manufacturing location of the products.  We choose products which are both aesthetically pleasing and environmentally friendly.

Hardwood flooring throughout the home comes from hand scraped reclaimed hickory barn wood, which has been refinished at the factory.  Some balusters and decorative posts were found and purchased at the local recycled materials center.  Recycled douglas fir, cedar, and walnut are being cut and refinished on site for use of trim and built in cabinets.

Stucco and thin cut real stone from local manufacturers will provide the exterior finish on the home.  The interior finish will be a combination of natural clay plaster and low VOC interior paints.  Check back for more information on eco friendly products that will be incorporated in the completed home.
