Energy Star Summit Tour
On November 30th 2008, Energy Environmental provided a tour and presentation of the home for the Energy Star Summit. It was such a huge success that we were we pround to be chosen again as the demonstration home for the 2009 Energy Star Summit.
The 2008 Tour
The 2008 tour focused on the green building process and steps being taken to achieve platinum LEED for Homes certification. Participants were taken on a tour around the home as Al Wallace, president of EEC and owner of the home, explained details about the design, materials, and systems. Dinner was served during a discussion of the building envelope, which included information on thermal bridging and choice of insulation. Al gives an overview of the integrated renewable energy systems in the home and explains how system design, sensors, and controls are key to maximum performance and energy savings.

Participants included architects, engineers, contractors, and homeowners. A hot dinner helped warm everyone on the chilly evening.

The presentation included an interactive session with a survey and question/answer session.
